Power to the People- Up The Republician Revolution
Friday, March 20, 2009 at 3:02PM If you have read through this site you will probably notice that our ideas are not mainstream - Why would a Republican want to be in an MLK Parade? Why would a Republican wear a t-shirt after buying one?
In the last couple of weeks I have been contemplating what it would take to do a really great "protest" - what a tacky word - I am now leaning toward the word Revolution.
I was looking at events - at these Tea-Parties, how to do events, what would have the most impact, what would really jazz up the troops. I was thinking a bit larger, more regional or national in scale. When thinking it seems like the immediate response is to go to DC, that's where your Congressmen and Senators are, right? Wrong. Anyway, the best time for us is when they are back in Ohio.
I pulled out some 2008 Presidential election data did a spreadsheet and came up with a location that works better for us. It has a proximity to voters rather than the proximity to DC. How many people really want to go to DC at Memorial day?
The National Mall has been over exposed. I like the Lincoln statue but Gump already did it, Gort did it. DC is not my cup of tea - parking is impossible and security make it a hassle. There are millions that won't or just can't get to DC. Let's sell some soda to America!
I sort of have a different location: STONE MOUNTAIN GA

- Georgia and adjoining states represent almost 12 million votes for McCain.
- Great transportation - No north-east big traffic problems.
- There are hotels, camping and is affordable.
- Atlanta is largest airport in the US
- When we "fill Stone Mountain Up it will be more dramatic than DC.
- Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis all Confederate Heros - this can be great symbolism (but we have to be careful).
The mountain face you are looking at is over 500 acres. For comparison purposes the National Mall in DC is 142 acres, which includes its water feature.
We don't have to be in DC - We need to be on TV. We don't have to be in DC - We need to be on TV. We need an event or events day after day in different parts of the nation to get the media attention.
Everyone always thinks you need to be in DC ----but it really is to far away and inconvenient to reach our core. We need to reach out to our base. Give them the OPPORTUNITY to participate. That is what is great about the Tea-Parties.
WE DON'T NEED TO BE HIP - BUT FUN WORKS

I think David Letterman was on the right track when he read off the Top Ten Ways The GOP Can Become More Hip
We need to have people want to be part of us. Our ideas, our events our moral themes. We need to invite them in. If it takes a Laser Show (looks cool ha?) so be it.
When you put on your local events, Revolutions or Tea-Party, think out of the box, Think fun. Think 10X bigger than what you need or can afford and then trim.
Now if Mark, Ann, Sean, Newt, Michelle, Laura and a host of other well connected people want to contact me about this project, great. If anyone reading wants to run with it, have at it, a bit of ego stroking would be nice, but who cares? If this part of taking back America makes a few readers get involved somewhere, good.
Thank you all.
PS - I think we can tie these events with some positive outreach - Invade Obama Land - Paint a playground - pick up trash in a destitute area. Do a bit of face to face and press the flesh.
