So What Do They Do? Precinct Captain
Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:25AM It takes people to win elections. It takes people to get out the right vote.
This is a series of traditional positions needed in a campaign. This information has been liberally confiscated from various campaigns.

Be a Precinct Captain! This reads as instructions and a pep talk - but you need the flavor of the opposition to see whay we are up against.
The goal of your local and state Republican party is to elect Republicans, and by that I hope real conservatives. This is done by running viable campaigns based on an aggressively organized grassroots approach. As a Precinct Captain you are the foundation of organizing the base to get-out-the-vote (GOTV) in your precinct on Election Day. The future of the conservatives and Republicans rests on your shoulders.
We know it sounds like a big responsibility. But by stepping forward to organize your precinct, you have stepped forward to reach out to your community and have you and your neighbor’s voices heard! It is the biggest and best contribution you can make to being a Republican in your state.
As a Precinct Captain you will be responsible to help get Republican voters in your precinct to the polls. This process starts long before Election Day. You must canvass your precinct and get to know who is a Democrat, a Republican or an Independent. Making sure that Republicans are registered and that the “lazy” Republicans voters make it to the polls or are offered an absentee ballot request. As a result of canvassing your precinct you will become the neighbor those turn to about politics, staying up on current events and elections is helpful, as well as staying involved. Getting out the Republican message to the independents will help educate the “swing” voters and persuade them to vote for Republican.
Being a Precinct Captain is an important role in the Republican Party. Another critical aspect of being a Precinct Captain is to remain involved with your county organization. Attending meetings and events will help you network ideas and energy throughout your county organization and Legislative District.
